Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
Ballet With Sophie has a duty of care to provide a safe environment for children under the age of 18 years and vulnerable adults. The school takes the well-being and safety of all students extremely seriously and follows the governments Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies. We aim to value, listen to and respect anyone in our classes and will endeavour to create and build an atmosphere and level of trust where students are comfortable to share their concerns.
Each member of staff undergoes safe-guarding and children protection training every year, follows the Royal Academy of Dance’s Professional Code of Conduct, holds an up-do-date enhanced DBS certificate and has regular First Aid Training. Ballet With Sophie also holds an up-to-date Public Liability Certificate.
We believe the welfare of everyone we teach is paramount in everything we do. This is regardless of age, sex, disability, race, religion or sexual orientation. We intend to work in partnership with children, their parents/guardians and other agencies in promoting our students’ welfare. If there was ever an event where a student is suspected to be experiencing abuse/risk of abuse or harm we would provide and follow procedures to take appropriate action to support those in need.
